Recently, Shandong Port Group Co., Ltd. and RIDEENCE AFRICA LIMITED, a Kenyan new energy vehicle enterprise, jointly visited Sabaki Green Estate located in the core area of East Africa. The three parties conducted friendly consultations on the in-depth integration of green logistics, intelligent mobility, and ecological real estate, and formally established a strategic cooperative partnership. This cooperation marks the advent of a new "Port-Vehicle-Residence" cross-sector synergy development model in the East African real estate industry, injecting strong impetus into the construction of regional sustainable human settlements.

As a leader in China's coastal port clusters, Shandong Port Group has accelerated its global layout and green transformation in recent years, adhering to the strategic path of "linking both domestic and overseas, and promoting mutual development between the east and the west". Shandong Port Land-Sea Korea Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the group, has built a cross-border logistics hub in Pyeongtaek City, South Korea. It has successfully established an "end-to-end" supply chain service system, providing efficient logistics solutions for well-known enterprises such as Alibaba and Coupang. Meanwhile, the group has made continuous breakthroughs in the green energy field. The country's first integrated demonstration project for "production, transportation, storage, refueling and application" of green hydrogen at ports has been put into operation at Bohai Bay Port, which can consume 5 million kWh of green electricity annually and set an industry benchmark for port energy transformation. In its foray into the East African market this time, Shandong Port Group will leverage its global logistics network advantages to provide green supply chain support for Sabaki Green Estate.

As an emerging representative enterprise of new energy vehicles in East Africa, RIDEENCE has taken "shaping a sustainable future" as its mission since its establishment in 2023, focusing on customized electric transportation solutions. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, it provides high-quality electric vehicles and supporting services for local users based on its in-depth understanding of the African market. In this cooperation, RIDEENCE will give play to its advantages in new energy vehicle R&D and operation to tailor an intelligent mobility ecosystem for Sabaki Green Estate.

As a benchmark project of ecological real estate in East Africa, Sabaki Green Estate adheres to the development concept of "low density, high green coverage, and intelligence", and enjoys scarce natural landscape resources and a convenient transportation network. The project planning covers diverse formats such as high-end residential buildings, commercial facilities, and green parks, and is committed to creating a livable environment where "residents can see greenery when opening windows and enter parks when going out" for property owners. This tripartite cooperation will further strengthen the project's green attributes and intelligent genes.

During the visit, representatives of the three parties jointly inspected the construction site of Sabaki Green Estate and the surrounding transportation and logistics facilities, and held a closed-door symposium. At the meeting, the three parties reached a number of consensuses on the details of cooperation, which will focus on three core areas:

  • Construction of Green Logistics Supporting Facilities: Shandong Port Group will provide customized supply chain solutions for Sabaki Green Estate, optimize the transportation process of the project's building materials, introduce the experience of port green hydrogen technology, and explore the construction of small-scale hydrogen refueling stations around the community to provide clean energy support for new energy vehicles in the community in the future. At the same time, relying on the group's global logistics network, it will help the project introduce high-quality international environmentally friendly building materials and reduce the carbon footprint during the construction phase.

  • Cooperation in Green Port Development: Shandong Port Group will join hands with Sabaki Green Estate to promote the development and construction of a port in a certain area of Kenya, relying on the group's full-chain experience in port planning, construction and operation. The two parties will uphold the concept of green development, integrate intelligent operation systems, environmental protection and energy-saving technologies, and ecological protection measures into the port project, and build a modern port integrating logistics distribution, industrial linkage, and green low-carbon development. The development of this port will form a "port-residence linkage" effect with Sabaki Green Estate, providing efficient logistics support and development momentum for the community and surrounding areas.

  • Construction of Intelligent Mobility Ecosystem: RIDEENCE will deploy the first batch of customized electric shuttles and shared cars in Sabaki Green Estate, creating an intelligent transportation system featuring "seamless internal community connection + convenient travel in surrounding areas". The vehicles will be equipped with intelligent dispatching systems and community service terminals, allowing property owners to make vehicle reservations, manage charging, and perform other functions through a mobile APP. In addition, RIDEENCE will provide exclusive charging pile installation services for the community to achieve full coverage of new energy infrastructure.

  • Integration of Smart Community Scenarios: The three parties will jointly develop a "Port-Vehicle-Residence" intelligent management platform, integrate data resources such as logistics information, vehicle operation, and community services, and realize the intelligent linkage of community security, energy management, and traffic dispatching. For example, through the platform, the operation status and energy consumption data of new energy vehicles in the community can be monitored in real time, and the building material delivery routes can be planned in advance based on the logistics information of Shandong Port to avoid traffic congestion and improve the overall operation efficiency of the community.

The person in charge of Shandong Port Group's overseas business said at the signing ceremony: "This cooperation with RIDEENCE and Sabaki Green Estate is an important measure for the group to implement the 'Belt and Road' green development concept. We will give full play to the advantages of port logistics and green energy, create a demonstration model of coordinated development of 'logistics-transportation-human settlements' for the East African region, and help the region achieve its sustainable development goals."

Yuka Paul, Chief Operating Officer of RIDEENCE, pointed out: "The ecological positioning of Sabaki Green Estate is highly consistent with our concept of sustainable development. Through this cooperation, we will deeply integrate advanced new energy vehicle technologies with community scenarios, allowing East African users to be the first to experience the convenience of intelligent green travel and promoting the development of the new energy transportation industry in Africa."

The representative of the developer of Sabaki Green Estate said: "We are very honored to reach a strategic cooperation with Shandong Port Group and RIDEENCE. The strong alliance of the three parties will inject unique competitive advantages into the project, which will not only enhance the living experience of property owners, but also lead the transformation of the East African real estate industry towards greenization and intelligence. In the future, we will work together to build Sabaki Green Estate into a model of global green smart communities."

This tripartite cooperation not only brings a high-quality "integrated living and travel" experience to the property owners of Sabaki Green Estate, but also creates a new model of cross-industry coordinated development. With the in-depth advancement of cooperation, it will effectively drive the industrial chain integration of green logistics, new energy vehicles, and ecological real estate in the East African region, injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of the regional economy. Industry insiders believe that this "Port-Vehicle-Residence" cross-sector cooperation model has broad replicable value and is expected to become an important reference model for the construction of global sustainable cities.
